Job Summary:

The IT Systems Administrator at Brazen Animation is a key role responsible for managing and maintaining the studio’s IT infrastructure, ensuring it supports the creative and production teams in delivering high-quality animation projects. This position focuses on maintaining the studio’s technical environment, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability of IT systems.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

IT Management:

  • Oversee the studio’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, workstations, and software applications.
  • Ensure robust cybersecurity measures are in place to protect the studio’s digital assets.
  • Manage IT support services, providing timely and efficient technical support to staff.
  • Plan, implement, and monitor IT upgrades and improvements to support the studio’s evolving needs.
  • Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
  • Monitor and maintain data backup systems and disaster recovery plans.
  • Develop and maintain an on-call schedule for emergency IT support to address any outages or urgent system issues.
  • Respond to on-call emergencies and resolve technical issues during off-hours as part of a rotational schedule.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management, preferably in a creative or media industry.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing vendor relationships, with a demonstrated ability to ensure accountability and deliver results.
  • Strong technical expertise in IT infrastructure, network management, and cybersecurity.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing needs.
  • Availability to respond to IT emergencies during off-hours as part of an on-call rotation.
Nice To Have's
  • Experience working in an animation studio or similar creative environment.
  • Certifications in IT management (e.g., ITIL, CompTIA).
  • Knowledge of industry-specific software and tools used in animation production.
  • Ability to operate with an infrastructure-as-code mentality.
  • Developer skills and coding:
    • Full-stack development experience.
    • Proficiency in Python and C++.
    • Experience with front-end and back-end development frameworks.
    • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
    • Understanding of web technologies, APIs, and cloud services.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment. Some travel may be required for IT-related projects.
Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds as needed for IT tasks.
