Associate Editor (Contract or Full Time)

Job Summary:

Brazen’s Associate Editor reports directly to the Editorial Supervisor.  They are a world class artist who is capable of propelling Brazen forward.  They are passionate about collaborating with creative teams to tell meaningful stories.  They must be relentless in their pursuit of excellence, not only for themselves but for every member of the Brazen team.  This person is an artistic driver, creative problem solver, and  budget conscious individual, who always finds a way to achieve the studio’s goals and inspires others to do the same. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Edit roughcuts and fine cuts combining storyboards, audio, graphics, and raw footage etc.
  • Collaborate on crafting the narrative of long and short form stories
  • Work with producers and supervisors on revisions through delivery
  • Address creative and technical notes from the lead editor, director and executives
  • Manage frame counts for shots and ensure technical accuracy throughout the pipeline
  • Deliver a finished video or elements for various platforms and distribution needs
  • Help troubleshoot technical issues
  • Pitch and assist with creative ideas for the individual series and overall unit
Required Skills and Expertise
  • Proven ability to craft and create compelling visual stories
  • Advanced knowledge of Premiere
  • Photoshop, After Effects and Shotgun experience a plus
  • Must have solid communication skills and work well within a team
  • Be willing and able to both give and receive feedback
  • Time management skills, ability to receive and execute notes in a timely manner
  • Flexible and highly adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem solving skills

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience working in editorial
  • Degree or diploma in in fine arts/animation or equivalent experience
  • Strong work-ethic 
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment
