2D Character Artist

Brazen is looking for a 2D Character Artist to join our team to help design the worlds our imaginative characters inhabit.

• Liaising with scriptwriters, designers, and developers on the look of the character/s and what style they are to be drawn in
• Maintain consistent style under the direction of the Art Director
• Developing various versions and costume changes of the character
• Use Adobe Photoshop to create concepts and final assets
• Collaborate with directors and other concept artists to create a visual consistency with other characters, and the overall look of the show
• Revise artwork according to feedback
• Can tackle a creative challenge head-on, and enjoys problem-solving with the team regarding design issues
• Adhere to production schedules

• Strong drawing and painting skills are a must, with a specialization in character design
• Strong ability to paint characters with a high degree of accuracy, particularly when it comes to capturing facial likenesses.
• Ability to draw and paint in a variety of styles
• Knowledge of anatomy and costuming, and physical settings associated with a character
• Solid awareness of facial expression, pose, posture, gesture, and movement
• PASSION to explore innovative ideas
• COLLABORATE with supervisors and production to meet their project needs.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, supporting multiple projects
• Ability to work AUTONOMOUSLY
• You are GRITTY when it comes to working hard and solving issues
• Be ACCOUNTABLE when troubleshooting issues and fix them
• A BOLD and strong collaborator and communicator
• You are CLASSY and respectful in all that you do

• 2+ years of experience
• Strong Understanding of Photoshop
• Strong understanding of the 2D pipeline
• Enjoys being challenged and can handle fast-paced production needs
• Enjoys working in a team environment
